Sarah-Jane Humphry


960274_10151848627943861_1801411122_nSarah-Jane Humphry received her BA (Human Kinetics and Ergonomics) degree from Rhodes University in 2003 and her Sports Science Honours degree from the University of Durban Westville in 2004 and her Biokinetics Honours degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in 2005.

She worked at the Midlands Wellness and Fitness Centre (KZN) for her Internship year in 2006 under the guidance of Paul Candler; she ran wellness and injury prevention programs at Michaelhouse School (KZN) with high school children and at the old age homes with the elderly. After she qualified she then went to the UK where she spent 2 years gaining invaluable experience across a number of fitness settings, focusing on aqua rehabilitation and skiing injuries. She worked in a Virgin Active in London as an Advanced Personal Trainer with a focus on injury rehabilitation and as a group instructor.

On her return from London in 2009 she worked at a Biokinetics practice in Ballito North Coast in Kwa-Zulu Natal.  She founded a Pilates Studio ‘Professional Pilates’ in Ballito as well as worked in a busy Biokinetics practice .  She gave lectures on pregnancy and exercise to Ante Natal Classes as well.

In 2012 she relocated to Gauteng and worked in a well-established Biokinetics Centre in Morningside, Sandton.

2013 brought great opportunity and with her partner she opened a Biokinetics Practice ‘Humphry and Healey Biokinetics’ in Morningside. Working in conjunction with Morningside Chiropractic Sports Injury Clinic.  As of  2016 Sarah-Jane is the current owner of ‘Humphry Biokinetics’ and the Pilates Studio.

She is a qualified Clinical Pilates instructor, Hydro therapist, Sports Massage Therapist and Water Aerobics Instructor.

Sarah-Jane has been practicing for thirteen years and her special interest lies in Orthopaedic rehabilitation, pre and post natal exercise, sporting injuries, chronic pain and Pilates.  She continues to attend as many courses and conferences as she can to keep her knowledge current.
